Our children murdered before their time if they had a voice will be crying out for change! 😢 After all the interviews i have done this week on ITV Talksport BBC Radio and all the national press to remember my son Kiyan Prince 20th Anniversary of his murder i realise how much more that It takes a... village that cares to save and empower the next generation I cannot do it alone i need the village to support the vision we all are in the village ♥️ The government cant police there way out of youth violence issue It will take a public health model that focuses on prevention. Opening safe spaces for our young people to support them and give them opportunities is where we want our tax money spent this is how we reduce youth violence many youths and families we work with have undiagnosed SEN issues trauma and lack the healthy support systems needed to bring up a child. We at Kiyan Prince Foundation focus on filling that gap but are in desperate need of a space of our own more resources and equipment to support the growing numbers of children and families sourcing our services. I heard about Mark Prince through my partner and the connection through QPR. I was intrigued and looked at the KIYAN Prince Foundation on the website. Instantly I knew we had to get the workshop he provided on my beat area. I am a PCSO for Thames Valley Police. After speaking to the local community it was a no brainer to get this session booked. The whole community got on board for this to happen and offered help and services. So Friday 12th November 2021 it happened Mark and his team walked in and instantly the young people stopped, listened and they were empowered on what was happening and hearing. It was magical seeing how these kids transformed to inspiring, pumped up and ready to live their lives motivated after the workshop. Since then they have engaged so positively towards myself and school. I can’t thank Mark and his team enough. He has literally changed young people’s lives. They are engaging in to sports programmes in the area, have more confidence and this is the marker they are not carrying knives… thank you and please carry on your fabulous work its changing communities.

I have known Mark Prince since 2007 because as a barrister I prosecuted the the young man who murdered Kiyan. I saw a lot of Mark during the case and we talked a lot. Then in 2017, we began holding knife crime events at the Old Bailey for young people thought to be at risk of becoming involved in gang and knife crime. I had not seen Mark for 10 years but the police were very keen for him to come as a speaker. Since then Mark has come to all the events we have held, about a dozen in all. He is, as everyone agrees, the most powerful speaker that we have and the impact he has on young people is enormous. There is always a queue of young people round the room afterwards, male and female, waiting to talk to him. Mark has an extraordinary ability to connect with young people, to challenge them and to inspire. I have not heard anyone who is better at doing this. The effect he has is immediate and can be seen as young people respond to him as he goes along. What is vital is that he is then able to offer continuing support through the KPF He has given up so much of his time and energy to the causes of preventing knife crime and helping young people as confirmed by his award of an OBE earlier this year. The Corporation of London held a reception for Mark at the Old Bailey after he had received his award to pay their own tribute to him and the work that he has been doing. He is utterly loyal, amazingly generous with his spirit and totally committed to this work. I am very privileged to have worked with him.
